The First Train Service Launched In China to Travel to Britain for Carrying Socks to East

The first train service is now launched in China in order to travel to Britain. This train would be covering 7,456 miles and passing through Russia, Belarus, Germany, Belgium, Kazakhstan, Poland, and France before the locomotive reaches east London.

This engine would contain £4m worth of loads, which includes clothes, socks, suitcases, bags and much more, says the Xinhua news agency.In most of the British homes, all that you get to see would be countless items from the eastern cities itself.  According to the resources, the freight train departed on the first of January and would be taking 18 days to reach its destination and completing the whole journey.

London is the 12th European city and United Kingdom (UK) is the eighth country, which has been added to the Europe-China line. London and UK would now be getting served by China’s freight trains.  There are different rail gauges in different countries, which actually mean there can be no single train that can travel the whole route. Due to this, the containers in the train have to be reloaded at various stages.


This Chinese train is named after the revolutionary communist leader Mao Zedong and his famous quote “The east wind will prevail over the west wind.” Leaders  of Dagenham Council and Barking and Dagenham Council stated – “Great news and, along with the plans for Barking Riverside and a Made in Dagenham film studious, it’s another sign that Barking and Dagenham is an emerging powerhouse of the capital’s growing economy.

According to the President Xi Jinping’s development is a part of his strategy,which is “One Belt, One Road” to connect Asia with Africa on old Silk Road trading routes and Europe.  The China Railway Corporation also feels that this service would be improving all the China-Britain trade ties and would also strengthen the superpower rising links to the Western Europe. There are various track routes for which it’s impossible to travel the entire route by a single train. Therefore, the containers have to be reloaded at various stages or points.

The country’s most important and biggest TV network came up with an initiative on the same day by launching a new global platform.This aim of state broadcaster is to help China rebrand overseas. With this, Mr. Xi is urging to “tell China’s story well… and showcase China’s role as a builder of world peace”.
